Dr. Marie Savard Joins PerformRx as Chief Medical Officer

Philadelphia, PA - PerformRx (, the nation’s integrated technology leader offering next‐generation, full‐service pharmacy benefit management, announced that Marie Savard, MD, joined the company as its new Chief Medical Officer, reporting to PerformRx President Mesfin Tegenu, effective today.

Dr. Savard joins PerformRx after a lengthy career as a physician, medical professor, health educator and author. She most recently spent 28 years as Medical Director and a primary care physician for Cabrini Missionary Sisters and retirement community, along with a year as physician advisor for Diversified Search, the largest women-owned executive search firm in the United States. She also spent 10 years on the faculty at Jefferson Medical College and 19 years on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where she received her M.D. in 1976 as the highest-ranking female in her class.  

Dr. Savard also has built a reputation as a thought leader in the medical field. She has been a medical contributor for ABC News, and has also served in editorial and advisory roles for Women’s Day Magazine, the Medical Broadcasting Company, Lifetime television and other organizations. She has been voted a “Top Doc” multiple times by Philadelphia Magazine.
