PerformRx Receives Fifth Consecutive Pharmacy Benefit Management URAC Accreditation

December 12, 2022 - Philadelphia, Pa.

PerformRxSM, a URAC-accredited, full-service pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) and part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, announced today that it has been awarded Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) accreditation from URAC for the fifth consecutive time. The PBM reaccreditation demonstrates the highest level of commitment to quality health care, enhanced processes, patient safety and improved outcomes.

Washington, D.C.-based URAC, a non-profit health care accrediting organization, assesses a range of professional activities when awarding the PBM Accreditation including how they formulate medication treatment plans, the efficacy and safety of medication therapy, and customer service and communication.

“For close to 25 years, PerformRx has built partnerships based on trust and transparency that deliver unequaled PBM services to our clients and their members,” said Jim Gartner, MBA, R.Ph. president of PerformRx.

“PerformRx was founded and is run by pharmacists, and a large portion of our staff are pharmacists or pharmacy technicians. These pharmacists and our external pharmacy partners work together to help achieve positive health outcomes for the members we serve. URAC’s fifth consecutive accreditation of our PBM program is a testament to our mission of helping clients, providers, and members use effective medication therapy to improve health and wellness by providing greater health outcomes through our clinical culture.”

PerformRx is one of only three PBMs to hold both PBM and Drug Therapy Management (DTM) URAC accreditations, as well as a National Committee for Quality Assurance accreditation in Utilization Management at the same time. PerformRx met six optional “Leading Indicator” standard elements, exceeding requirements needed for URAC PBM accreditation. PerformRx is a clinically focused Pharmacy Benefit Manager with more than two decades of experience providing clients with reliable PBM solutions, including drug therapy management, Medicare Part D administration, prior authorization, rebate management, specialty utilization management, Star Rating support, and access to an integrated specialty pharmacy — PerformSpecialty®.

“We applaud PerformRx on achieving URAC accreditation. With this distinction, PerformRx demonstrates excellence in quality health care delivery and their commitment to ensuring patient safety,” said URAC President and CEO Shawn Griffin, M.D. URAC accreditation brings the pharmacy management industry a commitment to quality, broad-based governance, and inclusive standards development.
