PerformRx Participates in URAC Accreditation for PBM
Philadelphia, PA - PerformRx recently announced its preparation for the new URAC Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation. URAC recently announced the availability of the program to the commercial market. In addition, PerformRx participated in the review of URAC's Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation program for health plans and stand alone PBM organizations in the commercial market. PerformRx, along with other PBMs, performed field testing of the program.

"The time has come for pharmacy benefit management services to be equipped with a measuring stick to promote the industry's best practices, encourage quality improvement, and protect and empower consumers."
Currently, about 70 percent of Americans receive their prescription medications through pharmacy benefit management companies, but until now there has been no comprehensive assurance for consumers and purchasers that quality standards were met for consumer protection, appropriate access to drugs and pharmacies, patient safety, and disclosure of pricing and contracting terms.
