Focuses on Industry Best Practices
Philadelphia, PA - PerformRx, AmeriHealth Mercy's pharmacy
benefit management division, will host its first annual customer
conference, Innovations I, September 19-21, 2006, at the Hyatt
Regency at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, PA.
This three-day conference will focus on best practices in pharmacy
benefit management for high-risk, high-cost populations. Mesfin
Tegenu, MS, RPh, Senior Vice President and General Manager,
PerformRx, and Perry Cohen, PharmD, FAMCP, Principal,
The Pharmacy Group LLC, will open the first full day of the
conference with a "State of the Business" address
on Wednesday, September 20th at 8:30 a.m. In addition, Dan
Mendelson, President and Founder, Avalere Health, will present
a "Discussion about the Intersection of Health Care and
Public Policy" at 10:00 a.m.
Jim Murray, Co-Founder, Ronald McDonald House and Former
General Manager, Philadelphia Eagles, will give an inspirational
talk on Thursday, September 21st at 8:45 a.m. Additional workshop
topics will include: Health Care and Public Policy, Drug Trends,
Medicare Part D and Medication Therapy Management and Drug Utilization
Review.
In addition, attendees will learn about Healthy Hoops, AmeriHealth
Mercy's pediatric asthma management program. Healthy Hoops uses
basketball as a platform to teach children with asthma and their
families how to manage the disease through appropriate medication
usage, proper nutrition, monitored exercise and recreational
activities. Now in its fourth year, Healthy Hoops improves health
outcomes while decreasing medical and pharmacy utilization and
costs.
