AmeriHealth Mercy/PerformRx to Present at the AHIP 2005 Institute

Philadelphia, PA - AmeriHealth Mercy and its pharmacy benefit management product, PerformRx, will be a participant at the America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) 2005 Institute in Las Vegas, June 8-10, 2005.

Michael A. Rashid, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will present on PerformRx and discuss its proven success in lowering pharmacy costs on a panel titled, Prescription Drugs: Innovations, Trends and Implications on Thursday, June 9th, from 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Rashid leads the operational functions for AmeriHealth Mercy and PerformRx. The product maintains an average annual pharmacy cost trend of less than 5% versus the national trend of 15% within the Medicaid sector by using the approach of linking traditional medical management with pharmacy management.

With more than 20 years of experience exclusively serving the Medicaid population, AmeriHealth Mercy and its affiliates comprise the largest family of Medicaid managed care plans in the United States, touching the lives of more than 1.4 million members in seven states, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, California and Arizona.
