AmeriHealth Mercy/PerformRx CEO to Present at National Managed Health Care Congress
Philadelphia, PA - Daniel J. Hilferty, President and CEO of AmeriHealth Mercy, will be featured in the CEO/CFO Forum focusing on Medicaid and Medicare on Monday, March 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the 17th Annual National Managed Health Care Congress (NMHCC), March 7-9, 2005, at the Washington D.C. Convention Center. AmeriHealth Mercy and its pharmacy benefit management product, PerformRx, will be a sponsor and an exhibitor at the conference.
Hilferty will speak on "Managing the Drug Benefit for Medicaid & Medicare/Medicaid Dually Eligible Members," highlighting how AmeriHealth Mercy "in-sourced" its pharmacy benefits management function for some of the "sickest of the sick" member populations. This led to the development of PerformRx, which now handles the pharmacy benefits for Medicaid recipients in five states.
Hilferty will also be featured in a second panel, "Diversified Portfolio: Compatible Product Opportunities and Strategic Relationships," on March 7th at 3:15 p.m. This session will explore the experiences of Medicaid plans that diversified their product portfolio to serve a range of populations.
Joining Hilferty at the 17th Annual NMHCC will be Mesfin Tegenu, Senior Vice President, Pharmacy Services, AmeriHealth Mercy/PerformRx. Tegenu will participate in a panel discussion on managing the cost and utilization of Injectable, biological and biotech drugs in Medicaid and commercial environments on Tuesday, March 8th at 4:15 p.m.
